KLEIN ON-CAMPUS & KLEIN ONLINE SIMULATION

 

• The second optional simulation will be a blend of Klein On-Campus and Klein Online. This will take place from 8:00am-11:30am. The purpose of this simulation is to test our blended learning approach, our network, campus procedures, and give students and teachers an opportunity to practice.

 

• Students who chose Klein Online will participate online (from their homes).

 

• Students who chose Klein On Campus will come to Eiland on this day (from school).

 

• Klein ISD buses will not be in service on this day. If your student will be participating in Klein On Campus on this day, you will be responsible for providing transportation to and from school. The simulation begins at 8:00am and ends at 11:30am. Our school doors will open for students at 7:45am. Please be ready to pick up your student from school at 11:30am.

 

• Parents and visitors are not allowed to enter the building at this time. If you are dropping off your student in the morning, please be prepared to wish them a "great day" at the school entrance or from your vehicle.

 

Student Wellness Expectations:

Parents will assess their child’s health before bringing them to school. Students with any of the following symptoms should not come to school:

• Temperature above 100.4/chills
• Vomiting or gastrointestinal issues
• Chronic cough/shortness of breath
• Loss of taste or smell
• In general, if your child is not well, they should stay home
• Been in close contact (15 minutes or more at less than 6 ft) with someone diagnosed with Covid-19 in the past 14 days

If a student exhibits any of these symptoms while at school, they will receive care in a space away from other students and staff. A separate clinic space will be utilized for everyday student care. Parents will be called to pick up their child immediately.

 

Face Masks

 

• All staff and students (grades PK-12) must wear face masks while on Klein ISD property. This includes buses, all hallways, and in common areas. Students and staff will wear face masks when entering and/or exiting the gym, playground, or activity space and when not actively engaged in rigorous physical activity. In light of recently updated CDC guidance, please review our Klein ISD mask expectations here.

 

 

Classroom/School Environment

• While students will physically see and interact with their teachers and classmates, collaborative activities may look different or be lessened to ensure the safety and well-being of the school community.
• Classroom spaces will be arranged to maximize social distancing and minimize/eliminate any shared items.

 

Teachers and Instructional Support Staff

• Each morning, all employees must affirm they are well and symptom-free prior to coming to work each day.
• All employees will adhere to Klein health and well-being protocols.
• Teachers will adjust lesson activities to maximize social distancing and avoid sharing of items.

 

Cleaning

• Our school will be thoroughly cleaned using a rigorous protocol outlined by our District. Our plant operators will clean high touch surfaces throughout the day.
• Teachers and students will be provided with safety-approved sanitizing products so that classrooms can be wiped down throughout the day.

 

Meal Service

Neither breakfast nor lunch will be served on the simulation day since it will be a half-day.

 

Transportation Service

KISD bus transportation will not be provided for the Klein On-Campus/Klein Online Simulation Day

 

ARRIVAL

Elementary Arrival (Klein ISD example)

• Students can enter the building starting at 7:45
• Students are required to wear a mask as they enter the building and in all public areas.
• Only school staff should be in the building. Parents and volunteers are not permitted in the building during arrival.
• All adults must stay in their car while dropping off students. They are not allowed to walk their child to the classroom.
• Please know that KISD bus transportation will not be provided for the Simulation day

• Signage will be clearly posted outside of the building to direct students where to enter the building.

 

 

DISMISSAL

During dismissal, small groups of students will be dismissed from their classrooms at a time. Classrooms will be notified of car rider numbers as cars arrive for dismissal. Please be patient as we will not have mass dismissal.

 

• We ask that all drivers follow the designated car rider route and be attentive by refraining from talking and/or texting in the school zone. The safety of our children, faculty, and staff is our upmost priority.

 

TRANSITIONS AND MOVEMENT AROUND CAMPUS

 

Do our students need to walk in a line with 6 ft. apart from each other?

• Students should walk in line 6 feet apart as best that can be accomplished.
• Signage will be present in hallways to support social distancing and students will be taught these expectations by classroom teachers.

• Administration, teachers and staff will monitor surroundings to ensure there are no large gatherings of students standing or waiting in the hallways.

 

Can teachers go outside with their students during instructional blocks to work?

• Yes, being in the outdoors can help relieve stress and allow students to spread out more than in the classroom and allow time to take a mask break (while still maintaining social distancing).

 

CAMPUS RESOURCES

Water Fountain Use

• Water fountains will be covered with plastic.

• Students will not be allowed to use the water fountain for drinking.

• The bottle fillers will be used to fill student water bottles.

• Students must have their own labeled water bottles to fill and keep them at their desks.

Group Restroom Breaks

• Stay with assigned bathrooms

• Cleaning will occur frequently throughout the day

• Limit students to three in the restrooms at all times (3 boys, 3 girls)

• Utilize social distancing while waiting on stand spots

• Monitor hand-washing

• Structured restroom schedule will be used to minimize hallway/restroom congestion.

• Dividers are placed in between bathroom sinks as an additional safety measure.

SIMULACIÓN EN LÍNEA KLEIN EN EL CAMPUS Y KLEIN:

 

• La segunda simulación opcional será una combinación de Klein On-Campus y Klein Online. Esto se llevará a cabo de 8:00 am a 11:30 am. Expectativas de bienestar de los estudiantes:

Los padres evaluarán la salud de sus hijos antes de llevarlos a la escuela. Los estudiantes con alguno de los siguientes síntomas no deben asistir a la escuela:

 

• Temperatura por encima de 100,4 / escalofríos
• Vómitos o problemas gastrointestinales
• Tos crónica / dificultad para respirar

• En general, si su hijo no se encuentra bien, debe quedarse en casa.
• Ha estado en contacto cercano (15 minutos o más a menos de 6 pies) con alguien diagnosticado con Covid-19 en los últimos 14 días
• Si un estudiante presenta alguno de estos síntomas mientras está en la escuela, recibirá atención en un espacio alejado de otros estudiantes y del personal. Se utilizará un espacio de clínica separado para el cuidado diario de los estudiantes. Se llamará a los padres para que recojan a sus hijos inmediatamente.

 

Máscaras faciales

• Todo el personal y los estudiantes (grados PK-12) deben usar mascarillas mientras se encuentren en la propiedad de Klein ISD. Esto incluye autobuses, todos los pasillos y áreas comunes. • Los maestros y los estudiantes recibirán productos desinfectantes aprobados para la seguridad para que las aulas puedan limpiarse durante el día.

Servicio de comida

 

• No se servirá ni desayuno ni almuerzo el día de la simulación ya que será medio día.

Servicio de transporte

 

• No se proporcionará transporte en autobús de KISD para el Día de simulación en línea de Klein en el campus / Klein

 

 

LLEGADA

Llegada a la escuela primaria (ejemplo de Klein ISD)

 

• Los estudiantes pueden ingresar al edificio a partir de las 7:45
• Se requiere que los estudiantes usen una máscara al entrar al edificio y en todas las áreas públicas.
• Solo el personal de la escuela debe estar en el edificio. Los padres y voluntarios no están permitidos en el edificio durante la llegada.
• Todos los adultos deben permanecer en su automóvil mientras dejan a los estudiantes. No se les permite llevar a sus hijos al salón de clases.
• Tenga en cuenta que no se proporcionará transporte en autobús de KISD para el día de la simulación

DESPEDIDA

Durante la salida, grupos pequeños de estudiantes saldrán de sus aulas a la vez. Los salones de clase serán notificados de los números de los pasajeros en automóvil cuando lleguen los automóviles para la salida. Tenga paciencia ya que no tendremos despidos masivos.

 

• Pedimos que todos los conductores sigan la ruta designada para los pasajeros en automóvil y estén atentos absteniéndose de hablar y / o enviar mensajes de texto en la zona escolar. La seguridad de nuestros niños, profesores y personal es nuestra máxima prioridad.

 

TRANSICIONES Y MOVIMIENTO ALREDEDOR DEL CAMPUS

¿Necesitan nuestros estudiantes caminar en línea con una separación de 6 pies entre sí?

 

• Los estudiantes deben caminar en línea a 6 pies de distancia lo mejor que se pueda lograr.
• La señalización estará presente en los pasillos para apoyar el distanciamiento social y los maestros del salón de clases les enseñarán a los estudiantes estas expectativas.
• La administración, los maestros y el personal vigilarán los alrededores para asegurarse de que no haya grandes reuniones de estudiantes parados o esperando en los pasillos.

¿Pueden los maestros salir a trabajar con sus estudiantes durante los bloques de instrucción?

 

• Sí, estar al aire libre puede ayudar a aliviar el estrés y permitir que los estudiantes se dispersen más que en el aula y dar tiempo para tomar un descanso de la máscara (sin dejar de mantener el distanciamiento social).

RECURSOS DEL CAMPUS

Uso de fuente de agua:

 

• Las fuentes de agua estarán cubiertas con plástico.
• No se permitirá a los estudiantes usar la fuente de agua para beber.
• Los rellenos de botellas se utilizarán para llenar las botellas de agua de los estudiantes.
• Los estudiantes deben tener sus propias botellas de agua etiquetadas para llenarlas y mantenerlas en sus escritorios.

 

Descansos grupales para ir al baño:

 

• Quédarse con baños asignados
• La limpieza se realizará con frecuencia a lo largo del día.
• Limite a los estudiantes a tres en los baños en todo momento (3 niños, 3 niñas)
• Utilice el distanciamiento social mientras espera en los puestos
• Supervisar el lavado de manos
• Se utilizará un horario estructurado de baños para minimizar la congestión de los pasillos / baños.
• Los separadores se colocan entre los lavabos del baño como medida de seguridad adicional.
